As part of The Armory Show, Marian Goodman Gallery will present ”Special Blue: Act I,” a new live activation conceived by Tavares Strachan on 24-25 September.

Presented in the context of The Armory Show’s focus on artistic practices from the Caribbean and its diaspora, ”Special Blue: Act I” draws upon Strachan’s longstanding engagement with the region as both a lived geography and a point of departure. Born and raised in the Bahamas, Strachan approaches the Caribbean not as a fixed identity or singular history, but as a place shaped by movement, exchange, improvisation, displacement, and overlapping cultural traditions.

The live activation schedule is as follows:
Thursday, 24 September at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm
Friday, 25 September at 12 pm, 2 pm, and 4 pm
Each performance runs 8–10 minutes
