Marian Goodman Gallery congratulates Giulio Paolini for receiving the Honoris Causa Degree in Art History from the University of Turin. 

Paolini was chosen for the award “for having offered, over the course  of more than sixty years of activity, an example of intellectual rigour and aesthetic coherence; for having placed avant-garde research in conversation with the history of art, understood not as a past to be celebrated but as an eternal present; and for having transformed the legacy of the masters into an investigation into the enigma of vision. For many reasons, his work ranks among the highest achievements of contemporary creative thought.”
