Delcy Morelos - El espacio vientre MUAC Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo
Delcy Morelos considers herself a painter, although her recent work has evolved into site-specific volumetric interventions. Her work, which began with possible translations of the experience of land, skin, and violence in Colombia into a pictorial format, has spilled over into a reflection on the roots and experience of territory in large-format installations made with materials she obtains from the places she visits and which she installs based on her interpretation of the spaces where the exhibition will be held. Morelos has dedicated her artistic career to developing, through the treatment of substance and pictorial materiality, a subtle reflection on notions related to color and its media: the body, skin, race, land, violence, gender, emotion. Morelos will perform an in situ intervention at the museum, which will engage with pre-Columbian architecture and local materiality.
