Cerith Wyn Evans at Haus Konstruktiv
Museum Haus Konstruktiv presents a solo exhibition of Cerith Wyn Evans as part of its 2017 annual program focusing on an exhibition block dedicated to British art.
Wyn Evans has conceived a new installation with fluorescent tubes that hang down from the ceiling and have a delicate form derived from the precise formalized movements of traditional Japanese Noh theater. It features a concentration of complex lines that echo the transitions of various theatrical sequences of movements and ways of walking. An additional light work on display is coupled with sound: Here, a selected passage of text, translated into Morse code, is sent to a fluorescent tube that is part of the exhibition space’s overhead lighting. The light blinks to the rhythm of the coded signals.
A preview of the exhibition and conversation with the artist will take place on February 7 at 6:30pm.
