Marisa Merz has exhibited internationally since the late 1960s. She has had solo exhibitions in such institutions as the Museo D'Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina (2007), the Kunstmuseum, Winterthur, Switzerland (2003), the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (1996), and the Centre Pompidou, Paris (1994). She was the recipient of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award, 55th Venice Biennale (2013). Merz has participated in numerous international exhibitions and biennials including the Venice Biennale (2013, 2001, 1986, 1980, 1976 and in 1972) and Documenta (1992 and 1982).
